The Old Forge, Knoydart - Mainland Britains remotest Pub
April 2008

Listed as one of only 3 of "Scotland's bloody good pubs by Peter Irvine "The Best Of Scotland 2007" and with no roads in or out, an 18 mile hike over munros (mountains over 3,000ft) or a 7 mile sea crossing, the pub is the remotest, on mainland Britain (aka Guinness book of records).

The Old Forge in the village of Inverie, Knoydart, started out as a smiddy's forge but nowadays it attracts tourists with it's award winning seafood platters, steaks, organic produce and estate venison; and "Creel 2 table cooking", live from the  sea loch, Loch Nevis on Knoydart washed down with the more obscure highland and island malts and cask conditioned real ale on tap.

Your more likely to hear, "so what do you play?" before your asked your name,  as walkers and climbers, tourists visit the pub.  So the decision to install an e-Box was innovative as terrestrial TV is still rare. The Internet access point at the Forge has been installed for guests and visitors wanting to check emails, podcasts or met weather details etc and has already proved a great success.

New Internet Café in WORCESTER
January 2008
As an exciting new venture the proprietors of the largest and newest Internet café in Worcester selected the e-Box coin operated café package because of its simplicity of use and competitive pricing. The facility also offers the sale of major brand telephone accessories.

In total 10 units have been installed and the package included all furniture, P.C.'s, monitors, printers, desks, chairs and software. The Installation took less than one day which allowed for a speedy opening of this much needed local facility.

The modular design of the e-Box range of coin operated Internet Café terminals makes it the ideal choice for almost any environment. From a single unit to fully equipped Internet café installation members of the public simply drop in a coin (normally 50p, £1 or £2) and they are instantly on the Internet for a pre-defined time. During this time they can access email, bank accounts, search engines, play games, buy and sell on auction sites or carry out all the functions they would normally expect from the Internet. One minute before their time runs out a message box pops up inviting them to insert an additional coin to continue. At the end of the session all history files are deleted giving them the confidence that the next user will not be able to access their personal information.

Using the coin-operated approach means that dedicated staff are not required to run the facility. The powerful inbuilt blockers makes the e-Box range of Internet terminals suitable for use by children of all ages.

Funky Hostels, Oxford save money and increase profits by installing two Interlock units
July 2007
Funky Hostels in Oxford have traditionally offered a 'free' Internet service to their guests but found the costs involved to be uneconomical. With no control over the information and files being downloaded they were constantly calling in computer professionals to re-load systems and remove virus infestations, this led to costs escalating. They also had security issues with users being able to get into Internet Explorer history files and find sites accessed by previous users.

The solution has been to install two Interlock desk units. With a maximum capacity of 116 guests Funky Hostels are normally full with visitors from all over the world and their reliance on Internet usage is high. Using the e-Box Interlock allows guests to carry out all normal functions online in the certain knowledge that history files will be cleared after their session expires. At a cost of £65 per unit per month slightly more than just two uses a day will convert their previous high overhead cost into a potentially very profitable income stream.

The Ferry Inn at Uig is a small friendly Inn located centrally on the southwest-facing amphitheatre of Uig Bay with magnificent views over the bay towards the Waternish peninsula. The Inn has six ensuite bedrooms with amenities, two bars, and serves delicious freshly prepared food from a bar meal menu with an a la carte menu in the restaurant. An e-Box Kiosk was installed in early 2005 and has proved to be a real attraction to guests, visitors and the local population alike.
